SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) modules are transceiver devices used in fiber optic networks. They are used to connect network devices such as switches, routers, and media converters. SFP modules come in two varieties: single mode and multi-mode. Single mode SFP modules are designed for long-distance transmission over single-mode fiber optic cables. They are capable of transmitting data over distances of up to 10km. Single mode SFP modules are typically used in high-speed, long-distance networks such as metropolitan area networks (MANs) and wide area networks (WANs). They are also used in data centers and other large-scale networks.
