Cat 6 and Cat 7 are two types of Ethernet cables used for networking. Cat 6 cables are the sixth generation of twisted pair Ethernet cables and are capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 10 Gbps over a maximum distance of 100 meters. Cat 7 cables are the seventh generation of twisted pair Ethernet cables and are capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 10 Gbps over a maximum distance of 100 meters. Both Cat 6 and Cat 7 cables are made of four twisted pairs of copper wire and are shielded to reduce interference. Cat 6 cables are typically used for Gigabit Ethernet networks, while Cat 7 cables are typically used for 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks. Cat 6 cables are more affordable than Cat 7 cables, but Cat 7 cables offer better performance and are more reliable.
