Bought a couple of these and ran into nothing but problems using ExosX16 drives. Updated the firmware (what come with it is way out of date) and have had no issues since. Tried to post a how to guide for the firmware in my review but A decided to not publish it cause it was not favorable so posting this one

It works fine and for the price is fantastic.
The only disappointment is that the cables are STRICTLY SATA & will not work with SAS HDDs. The firmware is not the latest, but it worked on my system, Debian Linux 12 on an ASRock K10N78M Mobo. Have not tested it with multiple drives yet but no reason do doubt it will work fine.
